The company was originally founded in 1946 by the family bookmaking dynasty the Chandler’s, BetVictor has become one of Europe’s leading online gaming firms. The company was founded by William Chandler who owned Walthamstow Stadium, which he opened in 1931, today they are headquartered in Gibraltar.

After the death of William Chandler in 1946, the business was passed on to his five sons, with Charles and Percy managing Walthamstow Stadium whilst the bookmaking business passed to Victor Sr. and Jack. Trading under the name Victor Chander until 2012 and originally a sportsbook, it has evolved to offer players the chance to wager online on all major sports, BetVictor poker and casino games.

Sports markets available

BetVictor operates in all major worldwide betting markets and covers all the events you would expect from the mainstream horse racing, football, rugby, greyhounds, cricket, golf & darts to more niche markets. They also have a good reputation for unusual wagers in entertainment, politics and virtual/esports. Experienced punters might find the lack of in-depth markets on individual games a bit lacking in comparison to some other bookmakers like 365 or Skybet. At just over 40 markets available worldwide (with both pre and in-play betting) particularly in the football and horse racing markets, there is still plenty on offer and BetVictor remains one of the go-to firms on the market.

Range of racing markets available

There are a large range of horse racing markets available at BetVictor with a global spread of racecards available, and they are traditionally strong in the ante-post arena where their opinions can be pretty warm. The main focus is British and Irish racing, but you will find US, Australian and Japanese markets on offer too. Live streaming is available for both home and international racing events. BetVictor offers wide appeal to the novice punter and pro gambler, with the range of markets available and the exceptional opportunities to place a bet. Whether you like to play small and place a win only wager or play bigger with an accumulator placing a number of combined bets then BetVictor has you covered. The many different bets are easily discoverable and there is a helpful glossary explaining the terms in the help section. Encouragingly the amount you can get on with the company is generally much bigger than numerous competitors, especially if you tend to be a punter on the Saturday racing or the festivals.

Price competitiveness & special offers

Like many other bookmakers BetVictor claims to offer the best odds – but with their ‘Bet Boost’ product they take things a step further. Users can select this button to check out current markets available with enhanced odds. BetVictor offers a very attractive £30 welcome sign-up offer, and some unique incentives like the ‘Lengthen the odds’ feature which means the punter can pick a horse and BetVictor will tell you how many lengths the selected horse has to win by for the bet to win. Alternatively, you will find enticing early price offers for UK & Irish racing, and if the starting price ends up bigger BetVictor will pay out at the bigger price (“best odds guaranteed” which is especially good for users of the beth.bet product). Additionally, the usual match bets, place only, each way and options offering faller insurance etc. are a welcome addition for any racing punter.

Website, mobile & app, account & easy of use

BetVictor has earned its place in the industry and they have invested heavily on the user assets such as website, app and account facilities over the last few years. The BetVictor web interface is simple, sleek and reasonably easy to navigate with a fresh and modern appeal. The clear menu and tab options are logical, and you can easily locate all available sporting events or in-play options with good page loading times – click the stop-watch button to take you directly to this tab. The ‘betslip’ and ‘cash out’ tabs on the top-right for account holders are easy access and clear. In some areas though the layout gets a little clunky and there are too many clicks required to get to the information you need. That being said, once familiar with the site it isn’t a big issue. By contrast the excellent app for iOS and Android is actually better than the web platform – it performs well, and it is much easier to find your way around. It is also worth noting that there are some additional promotions available for mobile app users like the ‘Run for your Money’ real cash refund (which gives you your stake back if your horse doesn’t start the race). Registration and sign-up is easy and account services secure. Overall, the platform and app get the thumbs up for Beth.bet subscribers, whether they be recreational or more professional punters.

Account limitations, accepted stakes & transactions

We rate BetVictor highly in this category – they are ahead of the game in terms of account housekeeping. Minimum deposits are low (ranging from £5 to £25) but vary depending on the form of payment you opt to use. There are plenty of options available such as debit card, Neteller, PayPal, Skrill, Paysafecard, entropay and bank transfer. Making deposits whatever the method is simple whether by card or via an e-wallet provider transactions are linked – if you choose bank transfers this can take up to 10 days whereas other methods are instant. Withdrawals are free if using debit, PayPal or an e-wallet provider and take 1-5 days to process generally. We have also found that BetVictor are more than willing to take a fair bet at their odds providing you are not a repeat Arber consistently taking prices bigger than on the exchanges.

Security

BetVictor’s longevity in the industry speaks for itself, as does its reputation. As a leading bookmaker they are highly regulated and hold licences to operate in Great Britain from the Gambling Commission, in Ireland from the Revenue Commissioners, and worldwide from the Gibraltar Gambling Commission. They are also one of the main advocates for responsible gambling and are members of the International Betting Integrity Association and GamStop.

Customer service

As you would expect from a leading firm, customer service at BetVictor is very good. There are so many points of contact with Customer Service via text, socials or by email.  The help centre is also a comprehensive resource with everything you need to know from T&C’s, FAQ’s to user friendly guides and information is all easily accessible. https://betvictorhelp.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb

In our experience if any issues do arise BetVictor have it covered. The live-chat facility scores extremely highly with us as response times are quick and customer service exceptionally professional.

Summary

BetVictor offers all punters excellent services, and it is easy to see how it earns its reputation. The mobile app is outstanding, and their generous sign-up offers demonstrate great value for its customers. We rate BetVictor particularly highly if you are a novice gambler because of the tools and resources available to guide you through the process. The feature Bet Boosts provide additional value while the large range of live streaming options keep punters involved in real-time.
